“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;” Romans 12:12.
Another verse that has very little meaning to me without context.
So the heading for this section of the chapter in my Bible
says “Behave Like a Christian.” I don’t think it could be stated any plainer
than that.
Anyway, the section is pretty good and just talks about how
Christians should live. It’s kinda like a Christians Best Practices Guide for Dummies.
The surrounding verses mention things like (but not limited to):
- loving without hypocrisy
- working diligently
- blessing and not cursing people
- taking care of other people
- being sympathetic to the hurting
- don't be a know-it-all
It's a pretty solid list of things that make the world a nicer place to live in.
